To further this, after calling Link a 'Ghost Hunter', he asks 'is that what you expected me to say?' This seems to be a play on the idea that the Ghost Hunter can read minds, and he wonders if Link can read minds as well now that he has become a Ghost Hunter. Since the Ghost Hunter already has Poes before he meets Link, it can be inferred that he goes by this title as well. While the Ghost Hunter is never directly given a name, he at one point comments on Link being a 'genuine Ghost Hunter'.

Interestingly, his belt bears an image of the Triforce. He also seems to take delight in acts of maliciousness: he clearly remarks that he admires the destruction caused by Ganondorf and considers it to be beautiful. The Ghost Hunter seems to have a profound insight into Link's situation due to his purported ability to read people's minds. Should Link collect all ten of these Big Poes found throughout Hyrule Field, the Ghost Hunter will give him an empty bottle as a reward. Big Poes, meanwhile, can be sold for 50 Rupees. If Link kills a Poe and catches its soul in an empty bottle, the Ghost Hunter will purchase the soul from him for ten Rupees. When Link is an adult, the Ghost Hunter runs a Ghost Shop in the devastated Hyrule Castle Town. Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow.
